Plans from Stockport Council for a one-off green bin collection
Green bins
We’re going to do a one-off collection of green bins to make sure that they’re all empty of food. This will make sure we collect all waste food that has been put in the bins before the rounds were stopped.
You must continue to put food waste in your black bin until further notice.
The collections will be over the next three weeks, if your usual collection day is a:
- Monday, please put your green bin out on Monday 13 April
- Tuesday, please put your green bin out on Tuesday 14 April
- Wednesday, please put your green bin out on Wednesday 22 April
- Thursday, please put your green bin out on Thursday 23 April
- Friday, please put your green bin out on Friday 1 May
If your green bin is not collected, please leave it out as it’ll still be collected within the next few days.
You must make sure your bin is out, ready for collection, by 7am.
Try to compost your garden waste if you can as we will not be emptying the green bins again until the lockdown is over. Composting is also good for the planet as it reduces the number of carbon miles garden waste is transported.
