Lyme Park reopens after the recent flooding on Monday 12th August

Following the recent flooding Lyme Park will reopen on Monday 12 August although some areas of the estate including Crow Wood and Playscape will remain closed.
It was closed 12 days ago when the heavy rainfall caused flooding through the gardens, car park and some areas of the timber yard. Some of the worst damage was in the gardens and Mr Darcy’s reflection lake where planting was washed away and paths and fences destroyed. In Crow Wood trees were uprooted and walls collapsed. While the park has been closed national Trust staff, volunteers and contractors have been working to repair the damage.
The interior of the house escaped damage and will be open to the public. Some summer holiday events and activities have been affected.
