Asda Hazel Grove is launching a search for the very best local produce in the
Stockport area as part of its ongoing commitment to local sourcing.
Having recently opened off
London Road, the store is looking for local flavours to help Asda deliver even more quality produce for its customers in 2011.
Asda Hazel Grove Store Manager, Nerys Lyne, said: “If you’re a supplier in the
Stockport area and you think you have a product our customers will enjoy, we want to hear from you. Our local distribution centre
will be able to discuss your product with you and guide you through the process of working with Asda. To find out more, please leave your contact details at our customer services desk - we look forward to hearing from you!”
Asda currently stocks over 6,000 local products throughout the
UK. The supermarket uses its award-winning local distribution centre system, which guides local suppliers through the accreditation process and saves them costs on distribution. This makes Asda much more accessible to local producers and helps reduce the number of food miles local produce travels to Asda stores.
Research shows that 72% of customers seek out locally produced food on their shelves.
Local suppliers who are interested can leave their details at the customer service desk in store or visit www.asdasupplier.com.
