Tai chi taught in a friendly environment by experienced and qualified instructor. The classes focus on the main principles of tai chi and how these are used in traditional forms and applied tai chi (tai chi dance, silk and sword). The classes also include traditional Chinese health practices such as Taoist breath therapy and Taoist Yoga and aim to improve fitness, health and mental wellbeing.
We are a friendly local brass band performing in a range of community events and taking part in 3 or 4 contests each year.
Tai Chi for Health (Hazel Grove), was originally set up by one of the Local Doctors Groups.
It is now supported by all the local Doctors plus the S.T.A.R. Team (Stepping Hill Hospital (NHSD/TRUST).
Tai chi in many forms are demonstrated and information provided for ALL visitors.
Everyone, no matter age or ability (including Carers) are encouraged to come along and see if it is for them.

Session 1 11:00 – 12:00

My aim is to encourage the local community to run, for personal fitness and for entertainment/social elements. Having researched the local running offering, there seems to be a lack of clubs for fun – and most of all this would be entirely free!
Runs will take place on Tuesdays at 1900 and Sundays at 1000, starting from outside the Three Tunnes – please contact me for more details.
We are a group of mainly single people, with some couples, over 50 years old who meet at the Royal British Legion, St Georges Road West, Poynton SK12 1JY every other Thursday evening to socialise.
Members also organise events including days out, meals, visits to plays and concerts. Whilst we are Poynton based we attract many members from surrounding areas.

Affinity Choir was founded 5 years ago by musical director Lesley Carson, starting out with a handful of ladies the choir has grown not only in size but in stature. With over 50 ladies from different backgrounds and ages there is one common ground….we all love to sing! A great social event and a way to make friends for life. We are always looking for new talent. Give it a go, we’re waiting!

East Cheshire National Trust Association exists to raise funds for National Trust Properties and to have fun doing so. To this aim we hold local walks, lectures and visits to National Trust Properties, being associated to the National Trust means that we are often shown round by a National Trust employee e.g. the Head Gardener. We also organise theatre visits and holidays.
We are a small and friendly walking club who walk alternate Saturdays, Sundays and Thursdays. Our ages range from mid forty to 80+ and we cover between 5 and 8 miles on a walk. We have walks to suit most levels of ability so if you are a new ‘walker’ try one of our shorter walks first and if you are up for more of a challenge chose one of our longer more strenuous walks. All are welcome.
What did you do last weekend? We’ve been flying aircraft, target shooting with rifles and going on exciting camps and other activities.

We are a broad based group of more than 60 members. All ranges of ability and experience are represented and new members at all stages of development are welcomed. Members are very willing to share their knowledge and experience. We have introduced teaching sessions (some with hands-on opportunities) in a variety of railway modelling skills, for members only. We are Stockport’s youth steel orchestra based in Hazel Grove. We welcome young people around the age of 11-13 who would like to take up playing steel pan for a hobby.

LL Extreme Cheerleaders are a well established and successful cheerleading team successful squad based at Hazel Grove Recreation Centre and Offerton Recreation Centre. We do pom dance and cheerleading for ages 4 and above, including an adults class. Please email/call Louise for details.
