A brand-new board game café is launching in Bramhall, Stockport. Board game lovers of all levels will be invited to enjoy playing their favourite games in a small, friendly neighborhood venue.
Opening on Saturday 20th July at 34 Woodford Road, the Outside The Box board games café can accommodate up to 20 guests and features extra-large, custom-made tables and a board games library with over 150 games. Games on
offer include family-friendly, strategic and party-style games. Staff will be on hand to recommend and teach board games to guests of all ages and gaming levels.
Outside The Box will be serving gourmet hot pies from Macclesfield-based Lord of the Pies. Other items on the menu include a range of finger snacks, cakes, barista-made coffee, premium soft drinks and milkshakes.
The café has been set up by board game enthusiasts Rachel Eade and Helen Entwistle to create a unique space with special touches to give people a place to relax, socialise and play board games in an intimate venue.
Eade, Founder of Outside The Box, explained: “We’ve visited numerous board game cafes up and down the country and made a note of the best bits of those venues. We’ve then added some unique touches to our own space in the North-West. “We want every visit to Outside The Box to be a special experience. Playing board games has so many benefits including socialising, escapism, reducing stress and cutting back on screen time. So, guests are encouraged to stay for as long they like to relax, have fun, play board games and become part of our community.”
Outside The Box is a social board games café and so solo players are invited to visit. The team will be on hand to help solos find like-minded board gamers to play with or offer them a welcoming venue to play a range of solo games.
“Many of us love to play board games but cannot always find friends and family to play them with,” Eade explains. “That’s why we’ve made it our mission to make Outside The Box a home for everyone to enjoy board games and we are delighted to welcome solo players. We’ve come up with a few different ways to accommodate solo players so that they don’t have to miss out.”
Over the coming months, Outside The Box will be launching regular events where people can buy tickets and experience new and classic board games.
